We’ve only known of this extraordinary album as a cassette, so we’re absolutely thrilled it’s now been remastered and beautifully reissued on vinyl. 
Released in 1976, 'Beauties' was the only album ever put out by Aselefech Ashine and Getenesh Kebret, two talented young women backed by the legendary jazz and funk band ‘The Army Band’ known for playing with the greats, Tilahoun Gesesse and Mahmoud Ahmed. 

The sound of Aselefech and Getenesh is so distinctive, their dual vocals coming together in extremely close harmony, intertwined and infinitely creative. Totally unique!
