WHAT WE DO
Markets are where it all began for us, so we still like to go back to our roots from time-to-time. We also host events, working with some our our favourite restaurants, chefs, mixologists and baristas to create special one-off collaborations and Pop-Ups, maybe for a night, several days or even weeks.

SUPPER CLUB &
We run a monthly Supper Club from our studio in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong and also occasional Private Dining.
Our Supper Club occurs twice a month, where we invite 10 diners to come together around our table to experience a multi-course tasting menu. Dates are released via email to our subscribers, a maximum of 4 seats can be requested, we then confirm via email if we have been able to accommodate you for your requested dates and seats.
Private Dining gives the opportunity for a group of friends to book our table of 10 for one night exclusively. Dates are also released via email, to subscribe for updates please get in touch.
We love to get behind the decks and share our record collection of treasured Ethio Jazz 7’s and new discoveries inspired by the genre. Our wish is to take you on a journey, deeper into the culture, through the beautiful and distinctive music of Ethiopia.

TO EAT ETHIO
Food has always meant a lot to me. I grew up in a big family and at home my mum was always in the kitchen. Food brought us together, it welcomed guests, it led conversations, no one escaped our house without being fed or at least having had a sip of coffee. And it wasn't just our family, in Ethiopia everyone cooks, it's definitely in my blood.
I moved to China over ten years ago and it was while I was living in Shanghai that I came up with the concept of Eat Ethio.
Like everyone living away from home, I missed my food, so I decided to cook for myself, adapting recipes to work around the ingredients I could find. I experimented and borrowed ideas from other cuisines. What I came up with worked. I shared my food with friends and that's how the idea for Eat Ethio happened. My aim was to pass on my love for the Ethiopian food and the culture that I grew up with, delivering it in the way I felt it should be represented.
Of course I had a grand plan for Eat Ethio but initally I had to start small so in early 2013 I began cooking at local markets and pop up events and after moving to Hong Kong in 2014 I launched my own supper club. I've gone on to collaborate with some of the most exciting establishments in Hong Kong using traditional Ethiopian recipes and a few modern cooking techniques.
But wherever I cook the basics are the same; fresh ingredients, simple dishes, clean, delicious food.
Eating is at the heart of Eat Ethio, I believe through food you can really get a true taste for a country.
Eat Ethio provides a modern insight into the culture of Ethiopia, a rich history, beautiful music, inspirational design and delicious coffee.
Ethiopia has a lot to offer, I just want to make sure I do it justice, the food is just the beginning.
